Lanoo's Food Tracker is a personal, non-commercial project operated by an individual, reachable at apc128@gmail.com. There is no company behind it and no paid service.
When you sign in with Google, the app receives from your Google account:
The app never sees, receives, or stores your Google password. Sign-in is handled entirely by Google.
Once signed in, the app stores whatever you choose to enter, which may include:
No payment details, addresses, phone numbers, or location data are collected. There are no advertising trackers or analytics scripts on this site.
Solely to operate the app: to identify you to the other members of your family group, to show who gave which rating, and to display the meals your family has logged. Your information is not used for marketing, profiling, advertising, or automated decision-making, and it is never sold or rented.
Members of the family group you belong to can see your display name, your ratings, and the meals logged within that group. By default, nobody outside your family group can read your family's data, this is enforced by server-side database rules, not merely hidden in the interface.
A family group can choose to share its meal ratings with other signed-in users of this app. This is switched off by default, can only be turned on by the person who created the family group, and can be switched off again at any time.

Viewing is strictly read-only. People outside your family group can never add, edit, rate or delete anything belonging to it, and this too is enforced by database rules rather than by the interface. As an additional safeguard, joining a group by invite code is paused for as long as that group has sharing switched on, so viewing a shared group never provides a way into it. Switching sharing off removes the group from the browse list immediately and restores members-only access.
Because notes and photos become visible to other users while sharing is on, please consider what you write and upload before enabling it.
Data is stored using Google Cloud Firestore and Firebase Authentication. Google processes and stores this data as an infrastructure provider on our behalf, under Firebase's privacy terms. Data is held on Google servers located in the United States. It is not shared with any other third party, except where required by law.
The person who runs this app can access the underlying database in order to keep it working , for example to remove records left behind when an account is deleted, or to clear a family group that no longer has any members. This is ordinary administrative access of the kind any hosted service requires, and it is used for maintenance only: never to read your meals for any other purpose, and never to share them with anyone.
The app uses browser storage only to keep you signed in between visits. This is set by Google's authentication library and is required for the app to function. No advertising, analytics, or cross-site tracking cookies are used.
Your information is kept for as long as your account remains part of a family group. You can leave a family group at any time from within the app. If you are the last member of a group, the group and its invite code are deleted automatically.
To request deletion of your account and any meals you have logged, email apc128@gmail.com. Requests are honored promptly. You may also revoke this app's access to your Google account at any time from your Google account permissions page.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete the personal information held about you, and to object to its processing. Because this app holds very little data and no automated profiling occurs, these requests are simple to fulfill, email the address above and it will be handled directly.
Sign-in is delegated to Google, so no passwords are ever handled or stored by this app. Access to data is restricted by database security rules that verify family membership on the server for every read and write. That said, no online service can promise perfect security, and this is a personal project rather than a professionally audited product, please keep that in mind when deciding what to write in the notes field.
This app is not directed at children under 13, and accounts are not knowingly created for them. If you believe a child has provided information here, email the address above and it will be deleted.
If this policy changes, the effective date above will be updated. Material changes will be noted on this page.
