Terms of Service, Lanoo's Food Tracker

The short version: This is a free personal project, offered as-is with no guarantees. Be decent, don't try to break it, and keep your own copy of anything you'd hate to lose. The meals you log are yours. The code and artwork behind the app are not, please don't copy or republish them without asking.

1. About this service

Lanoo's Food Tracker is a small, free, non-commercial application for tracking and rating meals within a private family group. It is operated by an individual as a personal project, not by a company. There is no fee, no subscription, and no paid support. By using the app, you agree to these terms.

2. Accounts and access

Signing in requires a Google account. Access to the app is granted by approval, signing in does not by itself entitle you to view or add any data. Access may be granted, declined, or withdrawn at any time, for any reason, without notice. You are responsible for keeping your own Google account secure, and for anything done through your account.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Attempt to access data belonging to a family group you are not a member of
Probe, scan, or attempt to bypass the app's security or access controls
Use automated tools to hammer, scrape, or overload the service
Upload content that is unlawful, harassing, or infringes someone else's rights
Share invite codes with people the group would not want to have access

4. Your content

The meals, ratings, notes, and other entries you create remain yours. By entering them, you grant permission to store them and display them to the other members of your family group, which is simply what the app does. You are responsible for what you write, please don't put anything sensitive in the notes field.

5. Availability and data

There is no uptime commitment. The service may be slow, interrupted, changed, or discontinued entirely at any time without notice, and data may be lost. This is a personal project running on modest infrastructure, not a backed-up commercial product. If something you've logged matters to you, keep your own copy.

6. Code, design, and artwork

The application's source code, design, layout, and original artwork (including the flying pig logo) are the property of the operator and are protected by copyright. All rights are reserved. You may not copy, redistribute, republish, host, sell, or create derivative works from them without prior written permission, whether or not the code was obtained by viewing the page source.

This does not apply to third-party components used by the app, such as React, the Firebase SDK, and Tailwind CSS, which remain governed by their own respective open source licenses.

7. No warranty

The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. No promise is made that the app will be error-free, secure, or continuously available.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of your use of or inability to use the service. Because the service is provided free of charge, total liability for any claim relating to it is limited to zero.

9. Termination

You may stop using the app at any time by leaving your family group and revoking the app's access from your Google account permissions page. Access may likewise be withdrawn at any time. Provisions concerning intellectual property, warranty disclaimers, and liability survive termination.

10. Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated from time to time. The effective date above will change when they do, and continued use of the app after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
